AD and NT4 configuration - follow the admin guide
If you are facing problems with Active Directory and NT4 authentication, please follow the administration guide. The following tips may also be useful:
- Make sure your system's clock is in sync.
- Do not use netbios names > 8 characters long (a truncation fix for this is now available as an update).
- If FOO.BAR.COM is your AD realm, use it in uppercase in the realm field and use FOO in uppercase in the domain field.
- Please set the IP address of the AD server correctly.
- Make the AD server join the domain with the checkbox and enter the AD server's admin username (usually Administrator) and password correctly.
- The UID and GID ranges can be kept as defaults if you don't care about them.
- You can ignore the LDAP settings (leave them as default) and it won't be used for UNIX UID/GID sync.
