Announcing Openfiler 2.1 Beta 2

This is a bugfix release that addresses all reported bugs from the 2.1 Beta 1 release.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UPGRADE FROM ANY PRIOR RELEASE OF OPENFILER

Download Openfiler 2.1 Beta 2 from the following location:

Both Vmware image and ISO to appear on Sourceforge later this afternoon.

If you already have 2.1 Beta 1 installed, you *DO NOT* need to download/install 2.1 Beta 2. To upgrade from 2.1 Beta 1, please see the forthcoming post on the topic.

1. Fixed startup errors caused by heartbeat, ups, drbd, and bacula services
2. Fixed RAID creation function
3. Fixed ext3 volume resizing
4. Added xfs and reiserfs volume resizing support
5. Fixed Java Applet SSH utility
6. Fixed Netbios name truncation to 16 chars
7. Built apache with LFS support
8. Added SMP support for kernel modules (iSCSI, drbd, aoe)
9. Fixed problem where certain characters were not being accepted for LDAP bind password
10. Fixed invalid reporting of available volume group free space in volume groups tab
11. Added the following troves: mtx, curl, wget, star, ext2resize
12. Rebuilt e2fsprogs with support for creating growable filesystems
13. Removed iptables from default install
14. Replaced iscsitarget trove with iscsi_trgt trove and rearranged components to allow for pinning

Barring any major problems with the Beta 2 release, we should see a release of Openfiler 2.1 Final on the 29th of September 2006.
