Announcing Openfiler 2.1 x86_64 beta 1
New 64-bit build for AMD Opteron and Intel EM64TOpenfiler 2.1 x86_64 (64-bit) build is now available.
This is a beta build and will be moved to 2.1 Final in short order once you have had the opportunity to give it a good bash. Note that this build is based on the latest 2.1 Final (x86) tree so I expect there should not be too many bugs lurking that are build-specific.
Starting from Openfiler 2.2 (available mid-November), both x86 and x86_64 builds should be released simultaneously.
Advantages of x86_64 build
- Larger filesystem limits
- Larger block devices
- Larger addressable memory
Downloads
Currently download is available from rPath's rBuilder only. The image will hit Sourceforge once we're at 2.1 Final (x86_64).
