Openfiler 1.1pre7-beta1 now available

A beta release of the 1.1pre7 Openfiler release is available now. Interested users who want to try new features can check it out. It is available from the downloads section.

New features in this release include full support for SMB/CIFS with LDAP authentication (including encrypted passwords), IBM JFS and SGI XFS as native on-disk filesystems, support for LDAP authentication to directories (i.e., the client authenticating to an LDAP server to access the directory), and snapshot support. It also contains some bug fixes from the last release.

We will make a final stable release after some more testing.
